On-the-Job Training
DeWys University is a 12-week training program based on theory and practice. Not only do students get to understand DeWys Metal Solutions, they also get on-the-job training with a certified trainer for the area in which they have applied. It’s like a manufacturing trade school.

At DeWys University, you go through a 12-week program to become a fully trained team member.
1 | Hands-on Training
The first step in your DeWys University course is to spend 6 weeks with hands-on training learning about all aspects of the job.
2 | Mentored Work
After 6 weeks of training, you will get incorporated into a production team where you will continue to learn and be observed for another 6 weeks.
3 | Fully Equipped Team Member
Once your 12 weeks of training and supported time on the production team are complete, you are now considered a fully trained team member ready for a successful career at DeWys.

Welding Training Course
If you have good hand-eye coordination, a career in welding might be the right choice for you. DeWys University is here to teach you the skills you need to learn and grow on the job. Employees in this program will be trained in both MIG and TIG Welding by receiving training in the classroom and on-the-job training by our experienced staff. Prior welding experience can certainly be helpful but we will train anyone who is interested in this fulfilling career.
Brake Press Training Course
Requirements: Pass a mechanical reasoning test.
To become a brake press operator, it’s important to have critical thinking skills and an ability to make proper corrections to quality. One requirement of this job is to pass a mechanical reasoning test.
Powder Coating Training Course
Join our team on the paint line. During this course, you will be trained on various areas of the paint line including: powder coating, loading and unloading the paint line, prehang, inspections, and vault person training.
Machining Operations Training Course
Learn how to machine with DeWys University. Employees in this training program should have prior knowledge in machining with both mills and the lathe. Prior work experience in machining can also be helpful.
Cutting Training Course
Get trained on the various areas of cutting including shake out, turret punching, and laser cutting.
Assembly Training Course
Get trained on a variety of assembly processes including component assemblies to completed product, quality inspection, one workflow line, and composer software.
